Dear Parents:

      Please allow us to introduce ourselves; we are Doug and Anna Cheney; parents of Krystal Cheney a freshman at Simpson.  Our two boys, Jeremy and Justin are in High school and Junior High respectively.  We reside in beautiful Southern Oregon, just across the California border in Medford, Oregon. 

      We both lead very active lives in our community and attend the local Rogue Valley Fellowship church.  We both keep full schedules working and attending our children’s music and sporting events, as well as, volunteering at the Christian schools where our children attend.  Anna and I feel that leading the Parent Council is just another wonderful opportunity for us to continue to pour into our daughter’s life.  Being a part of the council is a practical way for us to be a part of  what is happening presently at Simpson, as well as, helping to shape the future of Simpson University.

      Being the Presidents of the Parent Council, when we live hours away from the campus, enable us to still have a voice in shaping the vision of the school.  We recognize something very special about volunteering at your children’s school, even at a college level – it is about the kids in so many ways and “it’s also about the parents too!"  Our desire is to assist the parents of Simpson during those transitional times.

      The most important reason for our involvement in the Parent Council is to have an opportunity to enlighten and share with other Simpson parents the vision and sincere desire of the university's staff to teach and further develop their students for whatever God has planned for them.  In our eyes, Simpson is a school that relatively few have heard of, and certainly don’t know just how special of a place it is to send their children!  We pray that our involvement on the council and our words of encouragement to current and future parents will continue to express how precious a treasure Simpson is.

     May God bless this school and our attending children this year in a miraculous way. Please consider joining us and the other members of the parent council to touch the lives of every parent and student of Simpson University!
